After reading the other reviews, I figured this dress would suit me nicely. My body shape is an inverted triangle. I have very broad shoulders, wear a D cup, and have no butt. (bust-41”, waist-30.5”, hips-37”). I’m 5’-5” tall and I ordered the 12P. Even with 4” heels, the length was perfect!! Everything about the dress was perfect for my body type. I have a long torso and this dress is definitely made for a long torso. The other reviewers mentioned it was a little big on top; like loose in the armpits. I don’t disagree, but it was just what I needed. I took the dress to my seamstress and she told me that it fit perfectly and did not need any alterations. Previously, I had never worn a petite sized dress. I did wear a strapless bra (for my own security), but it was 50-50 either way. The dress has built-in cups. Also, I never leave reviews, but I appreciated the other reviewers, as it’s so hard to buy anything online (without getting to try it on first).

When I ordered this dress I was nervous as I normally cant wear petites. I'm short in the torso with extremely long legs and arms. To my surprise, it fit perfectly and I appreciated the built in cups. It's made well with a back hidden zipper and lovely fabric. Coming from the fashion industry, this was a find! Best of all, the price is extremely reasonable!

I felt very beautiful in this dress, and it was quite flattering. I got so many compliments and may have sold some Betsy and Adam dresses to my friends whose children are also getting married! It's a slimming design and a gorgeous color (I got the Pine). Beware the slit goes high so any shapewear you get needs to have a short leg (or you can hike it up on the left side like I did. I am 6' feet tall and the length was still perfect with my 4 inch heels (the dress train was still slightly touching the ground!) but if you aren't as tall you'll likely need to get it shortened. All in all a perfect dress for me or any of you other Rebecca Walton, Rubenesque size ladies. I am usually a 14 and did fit into the 14, but it was very snug especially around my armpits. I chose to go with a more comfortable fit in the 16.

I love this dress! It fits perfectly and was delivered in 3 days. I did the bridal shop routine and couldn’t find anything I liked. The dresses were very matronly and expensive. I can’t wait to wear this at my daughter’s wedding!

The dress is a stunning red. I wished the satin twist draping was heavier and longer. We will need to get it altered at the chest for a more snug fit.

I already had a gown chosen for my daughter’s wedding and saw this one and decided to order it. I’m so glad I did. I took a chance because I’m pear shaped and was concerned about the fit. I sized up one size for that reason. It’s lightweight and stretchy. I’m excited to wear it!

I absolutely love this dress! The design, fabric, and overall fit are beautiful and exactly what I was hoping for. I received so many compliments when I wore it! The only minor issue was that the neck area was a little loose on me, but I had it altered and now it fits perfectly. Even with that small adjustment, I’d definitely purchase it again — totally worth it!

I love how the fabric skims the body - comfortable without clinging. The deep V neckline and shorter hemline create bold sharp angles, while the billowy sleeves add drama and space. The tailoring of the pleats and the simple side zip makes it so easy to wear.

I’m wearing this beautiful gown to a wedding in Italy. It’s a black tie affair so I think this is just perfect. The gown fits true to size but since I’m only 5’2” had to hem it quite a bit. Would definitely recommend.

Comfy and perfect for the occasion

I wanted blue velvet and classy for my mother of the groom winter wedding. This dress is perfect. Fit perfectly. Will only need to slightly hem it. Thick material, forgiving and has some stretch. Love it. I have long arms, sleeves fit perfectly, but will have to be careful b/c it seems like they could easily be damaged.

Wore this black and gold sequin dress to an Adult Prom. Received so many complements about the dress! I felt like a Queen!!
This dress looks and fits exactly like it does on the model in the photo. Light weight. Sleeves are sheer. The dress was still a bit long with my 3" heels. I did wear a black tummy control binder just to feel all tucked in.

The size chart indicated that i should order size 2 petite. (my measurements: height 5'1", bust 34, waist 27, hips 36. fitting is VERY close to my body, but not too tight. Length is too long for me and will need altered. (In photo i'm wearing 2" heels). Fabric is soft and slightly stretchy. Knit lining is comfortable and stretchy,too. Regarding color, the website image looks like the dress is cobalt blue ,but is called "light navy". The dress is i received is definitely navy. Still, the color works for me, it's just not as bright as the website image indicates. Overall, very pleased with this beautiful dress.

This is the most flattering dress. Incredible quality, extremely classy and an absolute show stopper. This is my second Betsy & Adam dress and the quality is phenomenal.

I’m 4”10 and weigh 135 the dress fits me in all the correct places. Still a little long for my petite frame even though I bought the petite size. So a little hemming will need to be done. I have not done so yet because I have a few more months before the wedding and want to lose a few more lbs before getting it altered. But very pretty dress. Very classy. I’m pairing it with gold shoes.

This dress was not only elegant, but it was comfortable to wear all evening! I added a customized belt for a little sparkle.

The picture of this dress doesn't do it justice. It sparkles in sunlight. I ordered this dress to wear to my daughter's wedding in October in Washington. It is a fantasy/ fairy tale themed wedding. This dress fit the bill. It fits me perfectly and I will be pairing it with champagne colored heels along with bejeweled Elfen ears and a beautiful golden tiara with green teardrop gems. Because the ceremony is outside, I will also be wearing a green velveteen cape to finish off the look and to keep me warm.

The dress has a bit of a train, so I will have to lift my dress as I move about. I wish my knees could handle stilettos as that would help a bit.

I tried the dress on as soon as I got home from work. I am very happy with my purchase.

I carry my weight in my middle/rear,so I didn’t love the dress the most for my body BUT I loved the dress! The Jersey knit fabric is the most comfortable of the many I’ve tried on, great stretch, and the length was practical without alterations. The ruffles are so flattering!

I wore this dress to my Son’s black tie birthday party. This dress is cute and comfy. It was the perfect dress for the occasion. I purchased a size 14 and had the length altered to fit, I am 5’2”.
